The majority of Americans will suffer from significant Back Pain. Back pain is the number one reason for missed work and the second most common reason for visits to physicians second only to upper respiratory infections.
Back pain can be caused by poor posture, lifting habits, bad beds and chairs, lack of rest, family history, poor overall health.
Treatment of Back Pain with Chiropractic usually involves an adjustment which is done by the doctor by hand or with instrument to the vertebrae and sometimes pelvis to re-establish normal alignment and motion. No other form of health care has proven to be as effective as Chiropractic. Medically treatment usually involes medication to relax muscles and kill pain, these do serve to decrease symptoms but not correct the problem itself, thus return of the problem and with incresed severity follows.
Tips to Prevent Back Pain

Maintain a healthy diet and weight.

Remain active—under the supervision of your doctor of chiropractic.

Avoid prolonged inactivity or bed rest.

Maintain proper posture.

Lift with your knees, keep the object close to your body, and do not twist when lifting.

Quit smoking. Smoking impairs blood flow, resulting in oxygen and nutrient deprivation to spinal tissues.

Work with your doctor of chiropractic to ensure that your computer workstation is ergonomically correct.
